The brilliant night reception staff above anything!!! Our evening flight was delayed several hours, cancelled in the end with no information on when it would be rescheduled. There were no hotels available ANYWHERE that night, not even DT Chicago, but I kept hitting refresh on my booking.com app. We had already driven 5 hours, been in the airport waiting 6 hours with my 2 toddlers. Beyond exhausted when 1am rolled around. Somehow this hotel came up and I just booked as fast as I could and it was even confirmed by Booking. My husband, 2 kids, and 7 hand luggage items left the airport and at arrived at the hotel. I believe my first words to the staff when I approached the desk were ‘Please God, tell me I actually have a reservation.’ Their calm response was ‘Unfortunately no…..but we are contacting guests who haven’t checked in yet (I.e. it’s now about 1:30am) to see if they are still coming. But please have a rest and we’ll see what we can do.’ I sat down and started crying from pure exhaustion and wondering what the hell might happen if we got turned away and back to sleep on the cold airport floor. The kids kept saying ‘they’re hungry’ and we couldn’t find food anywhere but the sweets we’d purchased as gifts. But the reception staff saw this and offered and rest of their delivered pizza. Our kids were so happy and these 2 staff members really took the best care of us with giving us food and delivering g us amazing news that they managed to find someone who wasn’t checking in any longer that room was ours!! I needed to tell this story to say to these 2 night reception staff who were working on Sunday 21 July around 1am, ‘God bless you both. Thank you SO much for your compassion and looking out for our family. You made us feel safe and well looked after. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!

We recently stayed one night at the Hilton's Rose Hotel in Rosemont just outside of O'hare Airport. Reservation was made through booking.com, email confirmation provided immediately. We checked in around 6pm, all sorted in just a few minutes. They have free shuttle service to/from the airport. Easy to arrange at the front desk, I believe you need to call and arrange from the airport. There is good lobby space on the ground floor along with bar and restaurant called Thorn. Being exhausted from travels to Chicago, we had room service from Thorn and found the burger to be better than expected, normal airport hotel prices. Our room was just what we needed for the occasion, something very close to the airport to rest up before early morning flight. Plenty of space, desk workstation, flat screen TV with plenty of channels, wall seating, comfortable bed, good sized bathroom, good water pressure shower head. Room was comfortable and overall pretty nice compared to run of the mill airport hotels around the world, all at reasonable room rate. Would gladly stay at Rose Hotel again under same circumstances.

The Rose Hotel Chicago is a modern, seemingly brand-new hotel (despite it being a few years old) minutes away from Chicago O'Hare. It is 100% worth the extra few minutes (5-6 minutes) in a taxi or the hotel's complimentary shuttle vs. the Hilton O'Hare whose location does not make up for the hotel being really tired, run-down and really needing a renovation. Every single staff member with whom I was in contact at The Rose seemed to be generally happy to be working at the hotel. They were very flexible and willing to accommodate to my needs, from a very late check-in, a late check-out, as well as a few needs I had as I am pregnant. The lobby and restaurant have plenty of spaces to eat, relax and work. What was a terrible travel experience with delayed and cancelled flights was made so much better by this hotel and the team. Thank you!

Great location with lots to do and places to dine within walking distance. Shuttle to airport was very convenient. The hotel itself was sleek, modern and obviously maintained with great care and attention to detail. The front desk staff were not only very helpful and knowledgeable, but also beautiful young women that with authentic bubbly personalities that were fun to engage with, and willing participants in creating that inside joke, just to make one feel that much more welcome and the sense of being with friends. Next time I visit Chicago, one thing I won’t have to figure out is where I’m staying. All the stars. Thank you Rose!
